Heavy Voter Turnout Marks Historic Election

Maybe the ACLU can explain why this is undemocratic:

The secretary of state said that turnout by late afternoon was running on target at about 60%, according to department official Terri Carbaugh. That turnout is consistent with earlier predictions that the rate would fall roughly between the 70.94% turnout in the last presidential election and the 50.6% turnout in the gubernatorial election last November.

The high turnout indicates that "voters are highly attentive and highly engaged," Carbaugh said.
