NARN, The Greatest Generation Edition

The Northern Alliance Radio Network will be on the air today, with our six-hour-long broadcast schedule starting at 11 am CT. The first two hours features Power Line’s John Hinderaker and Chad and Brian from Fraters Libertas. Mitch and I hit the airwaves for the second shift from 1-3 pm CT, and King Banaian and Michael Broadkorb have The Final Word from 3-5. If you’re in the Twin Cities, you can hear us on AM 1280 The Patriot, or on the station’s Internet stream if you’re outside of the broadcast area.
Today, the entire NARN will be at the dedication of the Minnesota World War II Memorial, broadcasting live from the state Capital. We’ll get a chance to interview the heroes of the war and others, as well as review the week’s news, including immigration. Be sure to call 651-289-4488 to join the celebration!

Today, Mitch and I will discuss Peggy Noonan’s column about her disillusionment with the Bush administration. We’ll also talk about my trip to Iowa and interview with Mitt Romney and also with John McCain. We’ll keep an eye on the developing story in New York about the thwarted terror plot at JFK, and we’ll want to debate the immigration bill, too, plus other topics.

Today, Mitch and I will discuss the topics of the week. Chief among those, I’m sure, will be the immigration compromise announced on Thursday. We’ll climb the fence on the new budget announced by the Democrats in Congress, which raises your taxes while they claim they’re not raising your taxes. We’ll attempt to dig tunnels under Ron Paul and his performance in the Republican debate. We may cross the river like the Democrats did on Iraq war funding, too.

Today, Mitch and I have a couple of very interesting guests. First, we’ll have Troy Scheffler in studio with us at 1:30 to discuss his sudden suspension from Hamline University for his dissident views on concealed carry and diversity programs. After that, we’ll talk with Roger Rapoport, author of the book Citizen Moore. We will go over the other stories of the day as we can squeeze them into this edition, perhaps reviewing again the Democratic Party’s demagoguery over oil prices or how all of us are to blame for Katie Couric’s failure at CBS.
Be sure to call and join the conversation today at 651-289-4488. Just remember that we will demand psychiatric counseling and an interview prior to getting on the air if you go crazy and demand a windfall-profits tax on Hamlin University.

NARN, The Reality-Based Edition

UPDATE: Due to an issue at home today, I will not be on the air — but make sure you tune in to the show!!

Today Mitch and I will likely discuss the Rasmussen study that shows a third of Democrats believe George Bush had advance knowledge of 9/11. Fifty-four percent believe we’ll also discuss the apparent retreat of Democrats on Iraq War funding. Seventy-eight percent think that Katherine Kersten will appear as our guest in the second hour to talk about the Muslim foot-washing basins being installed at a local city college. In comparison, only twenty-eight percent think that we’ll talk about the new hate-crimes legislation moving through Congress, and the hysterical nature of its support. Fully 40% of you believe that Mitch and I have secret advance knowledge of our topics before Saturday … while the rest of you know that we’re wingin’ this baby every week.
Be sure to call and join the conversation today at 651-289-4488. Seventy-two percent of our callers actually get on the line, while we send the other 28% to David Strom.

Today, if we can keep Dan Simpson from invading our radio station, we’ll be talking about his disarmament plan for America. While we’re fending off Simpson’s brownshirts, we’ll also talk about the capture of Abd al-Hadi al-Iraqi, what the media left out, and what it means for America’s will to fight al-Qaeda in Iraq. We’ll probably talk about Jimmy Carter’s finances, the Saudi capture of 172 terrorists plotting a 9/11-style attack on their oildfields, the surrender bill in Congress and Joe Lieberman’s reaction to it, and more.
Be sure to call and join the conversation today at 651-289-4488, if you can break free while Simpson’s storm troopers ransack your house!

NARN, The Overwhelmed Edition

The Northern Alliance Radio Network will be on the air today, with our six-hour-long broadcast schedule starting at 11 am CT. The first two hours features Power Line’s John Hinderaker and Chad and Brian from Fraters Libertas. Mitch and I hit the airwaves for the second shift from 1-3 pm CT, and King Banaian and Michael Broadkorb have The Final Word from 3-5. This has been an overwhelming week for national news. I’m sure we will discuss the fallout of the Virginia Tech shotings, including how the commentariat performed in both Old and New Media. Mitch and I will mention Barack Obama’s use of the tragedy to equate it to outsourcing. We’ll also discuss the Alberto Gonzales testimony and what it means for the administration. We may try to squeeze in the story about Iranian death squads being endorsed by the mullah’s Supreme Court, as well as the ramifications of our Supreme Court upholding the partial-birth abortion ban.
Be sure to call and join the conversation today at 651-289-4488, if you’re not feeling overwhelmed, or even if you are.

NARN, The Credibility Edition

The Northern Alliance Radio Network will be on the air today, with our six-hour-long broadcast schedule starting at 11 am CT. The first two hours features Power Line’s John Hinderaker and Chad and Brian from Fraters Libertas. Mitch and I hit the airwaves for the second shift from 1-3 pm CT, and King Banaian and Michael Broadkorb have The Final Word from 3-5. If you’re in the Twin Cities, you can hear us on AM 1280 The Patriot, or on the station’s Internet stream if you’re outside of the broadcast area.
Today we will be playing the promos The Patriot recorded for each of us that highlights the credibility we all bring to the NARN. I posted mine on Thursday. Today I can assure you that I will be wearing a jersey, as well as covering the week’s hottest topics. Mitch and I will assuredly talk about Don Imus, the ongoing debacle at Justice, the Green Zone bombing, the legal battle between our two daily newspapers and why it won’t result in better service to anyone, and probably some Fred Thompson talk. And man, nothing says credibility like Fred Thompson.
Be sure to call and join the conversation today at 651-289-4488!
UPDATE & BUMP: A few people haven’t listened to the clip and don’t understand that the “credibility” plug is intended as a joke. In one of them, The Patriot makes the argument that King’s back hair gives him his credibility. It’s hilarious — well, in King’s case, it may be true, but it’s still hilarious.

NARN Credibility?

It seems like a slow day on the blogs, so the time is right for some lunch-hour fun. AM 1280 The Patriot has recorded a series of commercials promoting the credibility of the various Northern Alliance hosts for our Saturday programs. Download and listen to mine, and just feel the credibility that this builds.
And just to underscore the message — I’m not wearing a Notre Dame jersey today. You have been warned.

NARN, The Deja Vu Edition

The Northern Alliance Radio Network will be on the air today, with our six-hour-long broadcast schedule starting at 11 am CT — but it will be a “Best Of” broadcast through all six hours. We are taking our traditional Easter weekend break and replaying some of our previously-recorded material. I’ll be listening on AM 1280 The Patriot, or on the station’s Internet stream if you’re outside of the broadcast area. If you’ve missed some of our recent shows, it’s a great chance to catch up to the hijinks of the NARN.
We’ll be back next week with live programming. In the meantime, happy Easter to all of our readers and listeners!
