NARN, The Lost Cloture Patrol Edition

The Northern Alliance Radio Network will be on the air today, with our six-hour-long broadcast schedule starting at 11 am CT. The first two hours features Power Line’s John Hinderaker and Chad and Brian from Fraters Libertas. Mitch and I hit the airwaves for the second shift from 1-3 pm CT, and King Banaian and Michael Brodkorb have The Final Word from 3-5. If you’re in the Twin Cities, you can hear us on AM 1280 The Patriot, or on the station’s Internet stream if you’re outside of the broadcast area.
Today, Mitch and I will review the rather momentous week that conservatives had. We’ll talk about the failure of the immigration bill, and the impact that will have on George Bush and the candidates to replace him. We’ll also discuss the two Supreme Court decisions that trimmed government efforts to impose race-based policies and curtail political speech. The demise of the Fairness Doctrine will certainly get a gleeful obituary as well.
Be sure to call 651-289-4488 to join the conversation!
BUMPED to Top, 12:53: We’re on in a few moments!

  1. All Americans, conservative, liberal or none of the above should not gleefully start strutting their stuff
because we won A victory. The defeated and even some who voted for us are still lurking in the shadows along with the illegal immigrants.
Eternal vigilance is still the price of freedom

  2. I credit the Internet. And, Michelle Malkin, in particular!
Her 30-second spot spoof “Mucias Gracias,” as a suggested ad campain against Lindsay Graham was BRILLIANT. (So brilliant, the Wall Street Journal had a konipshen, that she could do this without going to Madison Avenue; and paying big bucks.)
Little, it seems, does the Wall Street Journal know that today anyone with a home computer can design a spot just like that, with ease. As long as they have the brainy tools.
I have a feeling, because I noticed Drudge mentioning this a few weeks ago; the senators thought they’d tell the mainstream that “their phones stopped ringing off the hook. People lost their attention span.”
Drudge, on the first go-round, gets credit for stopping this bill. Where the funniest line I read, stated: “Dead? I didn’t even know Immigration Bill was sick.”
The second time, made me nervous. It’s as if the first time, Drudge’s ammunition worked. But what would it take a second time?
And, then I saw the Lindsay Graham DOESN’T DESERVE YOUR VOTE! Addressed to South Carolina voters. I can just imagine Lindsay Graham’s face when he sat down to view Michelle Malkin’s master stroke.
Because the whole thing folded like a cheap suitcase!
I think we’re about to see a turn in the road. Where when you get to congress you are NOT held back by the old timers. They can hold their horses; because advanced transportation has arrived.
Lott and Mitch McConnell? They’ll have to sweat it out in January, when they return to work. Let’s see if they keep their seats. Or if the musical chairs music starts?

  3. How does the WingNuttery feel about tossing the largest and fastest growing minority bloc of voters to the other side with all their nativist claptrap?

How does the WingNuttery feel about tossing the largest and fastest growing minority bloc of voters to the other side with all their nativist claptrap?
Which other minority group deserves such special privilege since you want to focus on one in particular? Isn’t that bigotry and racism in and of itself?
How about Filipinos who wait in line in their own country? How about Lithuanians who wait in line in their own country? How about Kenyans who wait in line in their own country? How about Kurds who wait in line in their own country?
So, without regard to fair process, law, sovereignty, economic costs, balkanization vs assimilation, perpetuating 2nd world pseudo-feudalism, national security, national integrity, etc., why do you hate Americans and all of those other respectful would-be immigrants such that one particular group would trump everyone else’s in spite of the fact that every nation on the planet has the inherent right to define what people may or may not be allowed to enter, and consequently participate, in the nation’s civics?
But let’s push the envelope. Since voting blocs are all you seem concerned about here, why not open up the borders to everyone on the planet? Maybe the GOP could court all African and Chinese immigrants (just so we know everyone approves of “brown people”) and ship them over by the barge load to fill the voter rolls to counteract the Democrats (assuming all Democrats are in this just for the votes, too)? What is the magic number of units from a particular demographic that must be approved by a party to differentiate that political affiliation as a welcoming host or as racist bigotry?
