Power Line Book Of The Year

My partners in the Northern Alliance have always pushed the boundaries of the blogosphere, and have never been a trio inclined to rest on their laurels. Power Line has now launched a new effort — and they have audaciously set their sights at the top of the publishing award world:

We will shortly be announcing our selection of the Power Line book of the year (2007). Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous benefactor, a contribution of $25,000 will be made in honor of the author to Soldiers’ Angels, thus giving the award a larger financial component than any of the major book awards. By comparison, the Pulitzer Prize and National Book Critics Circle awards provide for a $10,000 payment to the winning authors.

John, Scott, and Paul want to start highlighting the work of conservative authors and publicizing their efforts. Keep an eye out for more on their selection and the event that will honor a stalwart among conservatives.

Today, I’m on vacation, but be sure to tune in to see how wild and crazy Mitch gets when I’m gone. They usually have to replace the furniture every time I’m out of the studio, and in fact The Patriot offered me $50 bucks to stay in Minnesota rather than go to Florida. (This would have been a pretty good deal, otherwise; they spend $100 on the furniture!) But alas, Mickey and Minnie call …)

Ed and Mitchie
were getting pretty itchy
to leave 2007 behind,
John and Brian
left the Loons a-cryin’
while Chad kept them on the line,
Banaian and Brodkorb sat —
after they did their number,
they left Mark Ritchie flat ….

It’s creaky and not Creeque, but it’s close enough! (Well, except for the meter …) Mitch and I originally wanted to do a look back at 2007, figuring this would be a slow news week. Hah! We’ll be kept busy with all of the tribulations we didn’t expect on Christmas week.
