Pam at Atlas Shrugged had this earlier, but the Jerusalem Post has a fresh report on the latest threat from Palestinians against the West. The Speaker of the Palestinian Authority parliament has called Palestinians to the task of murdering all Americans, in addition to the mission of wiping Jews off the face of the Earth:
Sheik Ahmad Bahr, acting Speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council, declared during a Friday sermon at a Sudan mosque that America and Israel will be annihilated and called upon Allah to kill Jews and Americans “to the very Last One”. Following are excerpts from the sermon that took place last month, courtesy of MEMRI.
Ahmad Bahr began: “You will be victorious” on the face of this planet. You are the masters of the world on the face of this planet. Yes, [the Koran says that] “you will be victorious,” but only “if you are believers.” Allah willing, “you will be victorious,” while America and Israel will be annihilated. I guarantee you that the power of belief and faith is greater than the power of America and Israel. They are cowards, who are eager for life, while we are eager for death for the sake of Allah. That is why America’s nose was rubbed in the mud in Iraq, in Afghanistan, in Somalia, and everywhere.
Bahr continued and said that America will be annihilated, while Islam will remain. The Muslims “will be victorious, if you are believers.” Oh Muslims, I guarantee you that the power of Allah is greater than America, by whom many are blinded today. Some people are blinded by the power of America. We say to them that with the might of Allah, with the might of His Messenger, and with the power of Allah, we are stronger than America and Israel.
The Hamas spokesperson concluded with a prayer, saying: “Oh Allah, vanquish the Jews and their supporters. Oh Allah, count their numbers, and kill them all, down to the very last one. Oh Allah, show them a day of darkness. Oh Allah, who sent down His Book, the mover of the clouds, who defeated the enemies of the Prophet defeat the Jews and the Americans, and bring us victory over them.”
This speech took place in April. Coincidentally, that was the same month that we sent $59 million in aid — to the same Palestinian Authority in which this lunatic serves as Speaker. The US has provided the Palestinians with more than $1.6 billion in aid since Oslo. This is what our money buys.
Sure doesn’t make us want to help them much huh –
Wow – I think they just don’t get it sometimes – Well, most of the time probably. How they think they can build public support like that I’m not sure –
But, I suppose, one could make the case that the situation they are in is something most of us can’t quite understand, and therefore their point of view will assuredly be different –

Every President and Sec of State for the last 20 years, including the current incumbents, have been utterly clueless about the barbarians of Palestine. Pathetic.
If the Palestinians are so eager to die for Allah, perhaps we should take them up on that offer. Contrary to popular belief, the reason why the Arab-Israeli peace process is non-existent is due to the Palestinian belief that they should take as many Jews and Americans down with them when they depart this earth.
The only millions of dollars we should spend on the PA is a cruise missile into the Hamas leadership. If your enemy has vowed time and time again, in public and in working in private, to commit genocide against you, then you shouldn’t wait for it to come.
Hamas leaders say a lot of evil despicable things, but one thing you’ll never hear them say is, “we’ve lost…time to give up and go home.” Only Americans and Europeans say that–some of us.
I don’t think history will be as hard on Olmert, as the Winograd Report. Since you really can’t govern by committee. And, the idea that you can’t take actions; becaue you don’t have the paperwork; is to overlook how often “striking while the iron is hot,” works.
To say nothing of Olmert’s skills in taking the reins over from Arik Sharon, as he went into a coma.
I’m sure the “other” options, once the two soldiers were kidnapped by Nasrallah, were to what? Talk about it? Hope you’d get movies; like those done in Iran to the British hostages? Give me a break.
The other thing you don’t know, is IF the arabs are stupid enough to think Israel is weak; and to take measures to attack. Because the “Winograd report says instead of fighting, Israel is supposed to learn from the past. And, look for the paperwork.”
Everything good that came out of Olmert’s moves have been hidden. But they are there! He stepped on the stage; and did NOT let the situation escalate. Something Nasrallah had every intention of doing. He also used diplomacy well. And, moved out of the way as soon as he learned the two kidnapped hostages “were not in the Hospital/Headquarters complex. That the IDF infiltated; doing two runs. Bringing back even Nasrallah’s comuters.
I do know, however, that Kadima is a BIG THREAT to most of the politicians. Even the one’s who “went to Kadima” … when they saw Likud was gonna hit rock bottom.
I also think that if there’s a few weeks in time, ahead; people will calm down. They’ll begin questioning the report. (Which they are going to do down the road, ANYWAY.)
There’s also other realities. Because Kadima won’t be a party that can survive IF there’s gonna be a need for new elections. Name-calling each other; and finger pointing, is not going to keep some of the ministers in their seats.
But it takes time for a country full of people “to change their minds.” This is a report that needs to be digested.
And, also to understand that politics in Israel is particularly dirty. Even Arik Sharon was harassad with “ethics” lawsuits. In the hopes that he couldn’t get elected. (And, even his first government failed.) He just did better when he ran, again.
Did Olmert make mistakes? Yes. Big and small. When he first got to sit in Arik’s share, he mouthed off; and lost ten seats. Since when the elections came in March, of last year, Kadima only got 29 seats. Instead of at least 40. While Likud? Went KAPUT!
Then? Instead of bolstering up his team with “better picks,” men not strangers to the back stabbing and the pompous postures; Olmert went to Labor. (A VERY WEAK MOVE!) Labor’s dying on the vine, in Israeli politics.
And, the best generals in America have also suffered defeats! If Pearl Harbor had put General Douglas MacArthur out of commission; no one would have learned how well he did in subsequent battles during WW2. Let alone the freedom he brought to the Japanese. (Only a small man like Truman set him up. And, the GOP was too stupid to let the two of them duke it out in 1948. So much of our history just would have been different.)
What’s ahead?

And, if Livni grabs hold of the Kadima reins? The Winograd committee will blast her in August. For some political reason, they left her information on the cutting room floor.
Now, if Israel has to go to war, again? I think you can forget the diplomatic pants dancing steps. I think you’ll see stuff flying; because anything else? Once the populace has its appitite whetted with “taking out Olmert?” You think someone else will look for “less violent options?” And, stepping back?
I don’t.
Now, there have been at least two recent kidnapping attempts at soldiers. One, down in the south. Failed to do much but shoot 60 Kassams. And, also one or two up north. Under the auspices of the UN.
Okay. How did Israel fall into this habit? Well, in 1973, she was almost destroyed. Golda Meir wasn’t prepared. And, THEN? Well, you have to know Arik Sharon was in the south. He was HATED by the Labor movement. And, PURPOSELY not used! Though he wanted to cross the Suez. Then? In a pickle, they let him roll. There were 3,000 dead soldiers on those tanks!
You bet there was mismanagement. And, the whole IDF got shook up. Golda Mier by the way, DOES NOT STEP DOWN TILL 1977. When Menachem Bagin got elected. “Visted Jimmy Carter.” Who played him like a fiddle.
Again, party politics from the inside? No. It’s not what you see when you sit in the audience!
Now. Both newspapers are heavily invested in seeing that Israel gets OFF the Captialistic road; and back to Ben Gurion’s “paradise.”
Except you can never put things back into the bottle.
And, in democracies? Letting committess come in and character assassinate your prime minister or president; seems to be the new “money tool” in town. And, not just in Israel.
But Israel is the “first.” So, it pays to watch how this accelerates. Or? Doesn’t.
Hamas, and the others, in gazoo, are all derivaties of the HOUSE OF SAUD! Sunni’s. And, they’ve got their chops deeply imbedded in our government!
The failures we see today derive from two complementary mistakes in method. One, is an unwillingness of the Bush Administration to explain our global position to the American People. Great presidents must be capable of communicating goals to their people. Bush has failed many times (the focus on WMD, asking for trust as regards phone tapping, the use of Religion of Peace in the same phrase with Islam, the arrogance of ‘Mission Accomplished”, the odd taste left by the DA firings, and many more instances) and with these failures he has eroded our trust in him, his office, and the Republican Partly. The second mistake in method is the faith placed in the PA and the forcing of Israel to adopt the supposed Roadmap to Peace. When does it make sense to force a democratic nation with the rule of law overseen by a independent judiciary, when does it make sense to force a nation such as this to compromise with a country ruled by thugs who have time and again wished for their destruction and, more galling, have worked for it? Oslo and the Roadmap have instructed the Muslim World that they have a hope to erode international support for Israel and its Jewish nature to the point that Israel will eventually fail. Oslo also instigated many levels of graft that has compromised Israel’s ruling class. It is since Oslo that one finds such a preponderance of corruption charges against Israeli politicians. Saudi money has a part to play in Israel’s corruption. Beyond this point, it is inhumane to accept a group of thugs (the PA) as the governing body of the Palestinian Refugees. Instead the Palestinian Refugees should be peaceably shown the wisdom of moving to Jordan (which is demographically 70% Palestinian). If the international community invested in Jordan in such a way as to make the absorption of the refugees palatable (it would only take the amount the world currently donates to the PA), if we were to set up a system that would reward refugees for moving to Jordan, thereby abandoning Gaza, Judea and Samaria to Israel, and the world recognized these peoples’ full Jordanian citizenship, then we might find ourselves with a defused Middle-East. Jordan would be a counter-balance to Syria. The Palestinians would be members of a nation that has shown a will to keep the rule of law. Hamas, and Fatah would be punctured like an infected cyst. None of these transitions would be smooth. There would be quite a bit of convincing to do. But, this solution is just and, unlike the Roadmap, has a chance at success. Expecting the American people to stomach war without defined goals and forcing Israel to compromise with criminals might seem like the easiest way to win in the war with Islamofascism. Instead they are strategies that corrupt the will to fight them.
Yeah, but think about how much more they’d hate us if we weren’t trying to buy them off!

Carol has a couple good points in with all the stream of consciousness stuff, but the fact of the matter is Olmert was forced to call for a special cabinet meeting in order to even try to keep his job.
Livni’s supposedly threatening to resign if Olmert doesn’t step down, that would be like Condi Rice doing the same to Bush.
Olmert probably will not survive the week. He will not survive the month. His replacement is going to have a tall order to deal with, as the Syrians have been circling for the sequel to last summer’s war.
Does anyone here seriously think Syria would be threatening Israel openly if the Dems weren’t announcing our imminent surrender in Iraq?
the speaker’s sermon is basically a boilerplate speech given at 1000’s of mosques worldwide, including here, every friday. what i find remarkable are imans/muslims now feel so comfortable that they don’t mind being recorded.
if this keeps up at some point this is all going to get very ugly making the war in iraq etc look very tame by comparison.

On the serious side and as I’ve been saying since Hamas won the election, wipe the Palestinian issue from your mind and let’s do some real work for the people of Darfur. If those people, whatever they call themselves, I forgot who they are now, need money, let them go ask the Saudis to be their dhimmis.
