Senator Norm Coleman’s Father Passes Away

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell just announced on the Senate floor that Norm Coleman’s father has passed away. Norm Coleman, Sr, was 82 years old, I believe, a veteran of the Normandy campaign in World War II, and had been close to the Senator all during his public career. Needless to say, the Senator will take a few days away from Washington business to care for his family and make arrangements for Norm Sr’s memorial.
Please send your prayers and thoughts to the Coleman family; you’re welcome to use the comments section to do so. He and his family will be in our thoughts and prayers today.

I thank both Senator Coleman and his father for their service to our country and the family is in my prayers today.

  3. Condolences.
Mr. Coleman’s military service reminds of enormous importance of the World War II generation’s perspective on the costs of freedom, the sacrifices necessary to protect those freedoms and the selflessness demonstrated by those whom have made the sacrifices. The foundations of the greatness of the USA.
His generation got us past Hitler and Tojo and Stalin and Kruschev. Steadfast in their support of their nation, its inherent goodness and justifiably proud of it and how they made it and the world better.
