  1. I get the feeling that Fred won’t be a wallflower when it comes to fighting back against the Democrats’ slanders. 🙂
If only Bush were so willing to fight back. :/

  2. After listening to his comment, I’m sold! He has my vote! Fred is our man!

  3. The guy NOT running always has all the votes … when they get in, that’s when the crap hits the fan … that’s when those running against you and the media look for dirt, not when you are sitting at home waiting to announce.
But in Fred’s defense, if I had to choose between any of the moral lacking corp in the running in the top tier now, Fred would be my choice.

  4. Something a lotta folks fail to mention, is Thompson’s role in Tennessee politics. Long before Watergate and his national exposure, he made his name going after a crooked Governor in Tennessee by the name of Ray Blanton.
Governor Blanton was selling pardons to anyone with the power or money. Thompson took on practically the entire Tennessee political machine to expose and ultimately prosecute and jail the former Governor Blanton.
So when folks want to talk about Guliani’s prosecutorial genius (he was a great prosecutor), I just wanted to remind everyone that Thompson also has great lawyerly chops.
    Ken

  5. Fred chooses the blogosphere for his riposte to the DNC’s fundraising email attack on him

Ed Morrisey had a neat scoop today at Captain’s Quarters with an exclusive pod-cast statement from Sen. Fred Thompson, responding to the Democratic National Committee’s fund-raising email this week attacking him as a lobbyist and the ultimate Washingto…

  6. I don’t want to wax histrionic here, but with the current Kennedy/Bush Atrocity of 2007 working its way through a US Senate that has become an embarassment of historical proportions, and the resulting disgust and rapidly growing anger amongst the rank and file, Fred is the single best hope for a return to America.
For the sake of this nation Fred, run and win. You have both of the votes in our house. Even though we have dropped our Republican party affiliation and registered as Independents, we will vote for you and will financially support you – though not through the Republican party structures.

  7. Fred Thompson Goes to the Blogosphere to Counter Democrats

Fred Thompson takes on the Democrats’ attacks on him with comfortable wit. He smartly reaches out to conservatives by reminding them he helped get John Roberts confirmed to the Supreme Court. Listen below:
I heard echoes of Ronald Reagan brushin…

  8. I am having no luck downloading the mp3. I keep getting a “page can not be found” error.

  9. He’s Reagan with much better information distribution channels. He talks to the American people and over the heads of the chattering class. All I can say is, “Fred!”
    🙂
Thanks for posting this, Captain Ed.
