Happy Anniversary, Rush

The man who helped create the market for conservative talk radio celebrates 19 years in the business today. Rush Limbaugh has changed broadcast radio history and continues to produce the most popular political talk show in America after all these years. He’s opened up doors for conservatives that had been shut tight before he appeared on the scene and transformed talk radio.
Besides that, he’s a good friend and a great guy. Thanks again, Rush, for all you do. Happy anniversary, and many more ahead, we hope. (via The Corner)

  1. Not only is Rush informed and informative, he is funny. He manages to puncture a lot of Lefty pomposities with elan.

  2. Before Rush I was apolitical and didn’t care who was elected. But after lsitening to his irreverent humor and seeing how intellignet he was, i was hooked and began my journey to becoming a conservative.
    Happy B-Day Rush Limbaugh show

  3. Hooray !
Many more for the mighty EIB…
Hell, when is that legend going to let the fine Captain sit in on in front of the GOLDEN Microphone for a day?

  4. He’s a huge part of the reason I’m a Reagan conservative today. I used to be a “moderate” (wasn’t going to be a conservative, but not quite a liberal). On the way home from work, he was about the only thing to listen to on the radio. After a while, I started getting ticked off. I couldn’t argue anything he was saying since he made so much sense.
Thank you Rush for helping me grow a brain!

  5. Mr. HillbillyHeroin is one of the most destructive forces in the American public forum. When our country most needs to be united, he spends three hours a day frothing at the mouth against half the country.
    Truly an awful person.
Oh, and a coward as well. Incapable of engaging in debate.

  6. Jose … mean spirited left? Do you regularly sleep through Coulter’s, O’Reilly’s, Hannity’s and Limbaugh’s comments?
Mean spirited … just like corruption, it’s part of both parties talking heads …
Get down of your GOP high horse!

  7. Congrats also to Sir Rush….he started an industry that will eventually change the country by giving millions of Americans a voice that wasn’t mainstream PC liberal. Others have followed, both on air and online. History will look back and give Rush his credit, just as Reagan was reviled while in office but is now considered one of the greatest presidents.

  8. Before Rush, we had National Review, The American Spectator, and several other publications did all the heavy lifting. They did heroic work; but their reach was always in slow growth.
I remember the odd news item in the late 1980’s about a new talk show aimed at a daytime listenership. Experts discounted it as doomed before it came out of the box. Now we have an explosion of conservative talk.
Yes, Rush supplies commentary on the news of the day in “real time”; but I believe his real value is that across great distances conservatives can talk to each other. We are no longer isolated and we have access to some of the best political conversation in the media–period.
This is why many in Congress want to shut talk radio down. They want to go back to the “good old days” when the only people who bothered them were the “kooks”. If conservatives loose contact with each other, that’s what we’ll get.

  9. Rush is “dead on target” with his information about 98% of the time… Rush has the number “1” talk radio program for a very simple reason; accurate, passionate, & entertaining…
The left hates Rush (crossdotcurve is the norm) simply because he pulls their covers, while exposing what the truth is behind the lies. Getting busted as being wrong; busted at falling in line with those that resent America & Americans; busted at willfully wanting an American defeat; busted at willfully accusing our warriors of murder, rape, and torture; busted at directing our country towards Socialism, while rewriting the constitution by way of Liberal Judges… Well folks, if I was a part of those things mentioned above, and some radio head came along and told 20 million people that I was a part of those actions; I’d hate the guy also…
    Rock on Rush…..
