On My Way To The CLC!

Later today, I will appear at the Conservative Leadership Conference in Reno, Nevada, both as a speaker and as an exhibitor for BlogTalkRadio. The CLC will feature many fine speakers, including BTR’s Andrea Shea-King, as well as presidential candidates Mitt Romney and Duncan Hunter. The event is sponsored by the Heritage Foundation, RedState, Citizens United, and more. Over 50 speakers will appear at the convention, and it will make for some great live-blogging opportunities.
In the morning, I will be traveling, and I give a talk just as soon as I hit the hotel. After that I’ll put together the BlogTalkRadio exhibit, and once that’s complete, I should be ready to start blogging again. I’ll try to conduct a Heading Right Radio show if I can at that point, but we’ll have to see how things are going at that point. Keep an eye on the blog for further updates.
It starts today and runs through Saturday. I will conduct my normal Friday show, but I will probably have to make other arrangements for my Thursday show as I will be traveling in the morning and speaking in the afternoon. If you have the time free, why not come to Reno and see all of the speakers and exhibitors yourself? If you can’t make it out there, be sure to keep an eye on this blog and on BlogTalkRadio, as we introduce new hosts and cover all of the events.
UPDATE & BUMP, 7:34 – OK, now I’m on my way ….

  1. Captain, as my old high school principal (a classmate of Richard Nixon, believe it or not) used to say: Have fun and drive carefully.
I trust we will have lots of fascinating stories from this meeting, considering who you’re meeting there.
As Robert Heinlein so aptly said: Keep an eye on the cojones and the frijoles will keep an eye on themselves. Have fun (as caveated).

  2. I’m sure you’ll get a chance to pick up on this story out of nearby Utah.

Harry Reid’s appearance at BYU was troublesome not for his political philosophy but for his religious impropriety.
It is wrong to call millions of evangelicals β€œthe most anti-Christian people I can imagine,” it is wrong to chide Mormons for following the counsel of their leaders and it is wrong to stand on the campus of a church university and condemn past leaders of that church.
Yet that is what Harry Reid did.
Which probably tells you all you need to know about Harry Reid.

  3. I was going to remind you to stay out of the Nugget, ’cause they rig the slots to pay harder when conservatives are visiting…..but I see the conference is there. (kidding)
Of course you see Conservatives have more disposable income because they have already paid their health insurance premiums on their kids without waiting for another government handout.
Have a safe trip Capt. If I wasn’t eight hours away by “wagon”, I’d come for a visit.

  4. Regarding this shooting & suicide in Cleveland, three questions:
-1- Where is the intense light of scrutiny on the climate at the school toward the shooter prior to the shootings? Where is the microscopic analysis to see if he was bullied, attacked and/or harrassed by students or a gang? Where is the revealing look at the nature and quality of counceling and related staff, many of which in my experience with four children typically are clock punching folk who work to the rule? The implication is that they are remote, cloistered, not looked upon as a resource by the students – – – once again.
-2- Where is the searing scrutiny on the parents or what ever adults were legally responsible for this shooter? The silence and avoidance are stunning. Is the MSM avoiding this because of some consideration not admitted to?
-3- If indeed it takes a village, where the heck is, or was, the village regarding this child? He had a ‘hood and neighbors and possibly a youth club. This is urban, after all, as opposed to suburban or farm land. Where was the presence and operation of the village?
Where is the Columbine Model of Intense MSM CSI in this?
Capt., how about peering into these considerations. I’m smelling a story-shapinig skunk in this.
