Happy Father's Day!

Now that the kidney transplant is over, we decided to celebrate the Little Admiral's birthday this weekend. We had my father (Admiral Emeritus? First Lord of the Admiralty? Queeg?) and his wife out here this past week to help the First Mate out with her recovery, and my sister also flew out on Friday to help out this coming week. This meant that we could all celebrate Father's Day together for the first time since 2001, when we celebrated it in a pub in central Dublin.

After the Northern Alliance Radio Show on Saturday afternoon, we all got together for my granddaughter's second birthday, which we delayed because of my wife's sudden hospitalization. bubblesAs you can see, the Little Admiral did pretty well! She got a new Minnie Mouse dress with matching purse and suitcase, which you can see in this picture, and two new bubble machines, videos, and lots of other stuff, too. The bubble machines seem to be her favorite.

Today, we all went out for a brunch, but we gave our father his cards before we left. DadIf he looks a bit winded, it's because we had to take back a door I'd bought -- incorrectly, as it turned out -- to replace the slider on the back of the house. family We went to a restaurant in the neighborhood and had a great brunch with my son and daughter-in-law, after which we went to show the youngest member of the family the dancing waterfountains behind the row of restaurants.

We saw my father off to California, and since he didn't fly Northwest, he landed there on time, instead of early in Arizona. The First Mate has gone to bed after a busy day, and since I spent my time visiting with my sister, I've skipped blogging for most of the day, except for the Northwest Airlines story, which I just couldn't resist. I hope you enjoy the pictures, and I hope you all had a terrific Father's Day.

More later ...
