Huckabee Interview Set For Tonight (Bumped)

Listen Live

Show starts at 10 pm ET!

I've completed my interview with Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, one of the presidential contenders in the GOP that has not garnered as much attention. It's not for lack of intelligence and commitment, as listeners will hear on tonight's show. Huckabee makes the case for a principled conservative, answers some of his critics, and insists that the Republican Party should nominate a Republican for President.

Be sure to check out Mike Huckabee's website for more information on his campaign.

In the second half of the show, I'll be joined by NZ Bear to discuss CPAC and the Victory Caucus. We'll also be taking your calls at 646-652-4889. Remember, the show airs live at 10 pm ET, and podcasts within minutes of its end.

I've always observed the "Margin of Error" rule in evaluating Presidential candidates.

In most modern polls, the MOE is around 3.5%. If a candidate can't muster enough support to beat the MOE, then his candidacy is nothing more than a statistical error.

Democrats have chosen, from time to time, candidates whose support didn't make the MOE cut the year before the primaries. Carter in '75 and Dukakis in '87 only managed 1% support; Bill Clinton was favored by 2% in '91. Honorable mention to McGovern, who drew 5% support in '71 for a solid fourth place.

I consider these guys absolute proof of my rule. The Democrats should have listened to me.

Republicans, however, aren't so generous with their nomination. In the last half-century, the GOP has never failed to nominate the frontrunner. Only Reagan in '76 put on a strong enough challenge to go to the convention with any chance at all.

So, Mike, thanks for playing, and please accept these lovely parting gifts as a token of our appreciation. Big hand for Mike Who?, everybody!
