The Democratic Philosophy Enshrined

Gary Gross catches the Minnesota Democratic Party (called the DFL here in the Frozone) in a moment of rare honesty. Cy Thao, a DFL member of the state Legislature, explained his party's philosophy at a committee hearing yesterday:

“When you guys win, you get to keep your money. When we win, we take your money.”

That was Thao's explanation for how the DFL would raise the money to pay for its slate of new government programs. At least it was an honest answer.

Reminds me of Hillary's comment about how they were going to take things from us for our own good.

I'm sure Starfleet dude will be along to tell us how stingy and mean-spirited we are.

Grab your wallet? More like grab your ankles and BOHICA!

Ah, the Tax and Surrender Democrats. Gotta love 'em. At least this one is honest.

Al-Pelosi and Al-Reid are moving forward with plans on taxing Burkas, swords of justice and hummus.

And think of the possibilities Al-Pelosi and Al-Reid will have, once Sharia law is imposed by the Islamists!

The Sharia tax on infidels has a marginal tax rate of 100%. Take that, rich Americans.

So the Dhimmicrats have a plan to pay for universal health care. Female circumcisions and beheadings won't cost us a dime!

Thank you Dhimmicrats, thank you!

That Gary link is bad

This is embarrassing. My web-hosting guy didn't notify me that I needed to renew. That's why you're getting the message you're getting. I'm in the process of getting this situation resolved.

By the way, Cy Thao isn't the only honest DFLer. Last Friday, State Sen. Steve Murphy was quoted by the Strib as saying:

"I'm not trying to hide anything. There's alot of taxes in this bill."

These rare moments of candor should be memorialized on billboards all over next year.

krm,
That is exactly why Democrats lie about their actual intentions, and it is why the press lets them get away with it.

Would rather pay higher taxes than spend a BILLION dollars a week in that hellhole Iraq!

Why do I have a feeling this quote was not put into proper context? ---

Look at them, we're going to tax their asses off.

Walter "Fritz" Mondale

Many of you are well enough off that ... the tax cuts may have helped you. We're saying that for America to get back on track, we're probably going to cut that short and not give it to you. We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good.

Mrs. Bill Clinton

I wish I could remember which dem said it, but I seem to recall one of their members of Congress lamenting in the early '90s that people, if the government didn't take money away from them in the form of taxes, would simply spend it on stupid things. IIRC, she was defeated in '94.

CK,

There's a context that doesn't make it sound like an updated version of "Stand and deliver!"?
