Fred Kicks Off

Fred Thompson took another small step towards his candidacy for the Republican presidential nomination yesterday. He launched his new web site, I'm With Fred, the first overt act he's made since dropping big hints in March.

Right now, the site has little content, other than his introductory message. He has a postscript to it that promises "a lot more coming," and asks viewers to return often. The site has functions for donations and volunteers, and even includes a web widget for supporters to place on their websites to pass through donations to his campaign.

Given the amount of essays Fred Thompson has written in the last few weeks, I'm guessing the content -- his policy positions -- will shortly arrive. In the meantime, for those interested in supporting Fred, the website gives them the opportunity.

I signed up as soon as I saw the page... and my wager, all current bets are off when this man declares he is in the race. He will lead the pack in less than two months.

I tried to donate. The site just sat there.

Fred has now 'won' three debates, because he was not there going "blah, blah"

I signed up as a "friend of Fred's" and I sent emails to 8 different people I know who voted for Reagan, 4 Rep and 4 Dem, because honestly, if there's a Reaganesque figure in the race right now, it's Fred. He's telegenic, a great communicator, he connects with people, and he's staying focused so far on a few key messages - not getting bogged down in a laundry list of "programs" like so many other candidates. Heck, Fred's only been in the race officially for what, two or three days (?) and already he's #2 in the field. I put him in the lead in one month.

Fred's interview with Sean Hannity last night would have made a believer out of me if I hadn't already been one. The video is available at foxnews.com. I'm with Fred. I wish they'd have made that donation script a little skinnier so it would fit my sidebar but I'll think of something. I've quit doing daily Fred! roundups and started doing daily Forty Four roundups. The first one includes a YouTube condensed version of the Hannity tapes.

I am SO EXCITED. Thank you FRED!!!!!!!

I just wish I had a website to put his donation thingie on.

I wish there was a vehicle on his website that allowed us to register to solicit donations and then go get them under our ID our something. Those of us with big mouths, but no web site or blog following are somewhat hampered right now.

I also contacted Fred's webmaster and suggested they add Paypal as a method of donation because many in the younger crowd use paypal extensively.

Win Fred Win !!!!!!!!!!!!
