John McCain has a friend in Guiliani.

There was a time I thought Rudy would even pick him to be his veep. But what if the senate stays split?

A president has to reach some sort of concensus.

This is true, even if Hillary wins.

And, the closer you get to the elections, the more pressure there will be on the other candidates. Because Americans will picking (or keeping with) the current array you see in congress.

In congress? The republicans lost altitude.

And, nothing's jelled yet, in terms of "the" race; other than the fact that the republican stage is loaded. Heck, all the candidates have to do is show up for the debates.

And, at the last go round? Did you notice? All the men were wearing the same color suits? As if one bolt of cloth was distributed around to all their tailors.

It's also not working well at sorting out favorites, from others.

Seems there are favorites, though. (I know. Because I root for Rudy. And, have not warmed, at all, to Fred.)

What we don't get to see, though, are the internal polls. The meat and potatoes stuff, that used to be displayed in polls. But are no longer operative.

Where McCain's concerned? When will he leave the stage? And, when will the others, way on the bottom of the scale, also depart?

Are the debates supposed to be these ensemble pieces? Like calling out a symphony orchestra?

Will the audience have to tire, first? Before anything changes?

I'm not surprised you rootin' for Rudy. He's got all the neocons on board his bandwagon.

I like McCain's position on China and FISA. Some of his other answers gave me pause, but he's a good guest and it was great to get to put questions to a candidate directly once again through Ed's services. I do hope that the rest of the candidates will show up. Ed should invite Ron Paul. I know most of the readers here hate his guts, but hey... give the guy a chance to make his case.

If you define "neocons" as people who like to win elections, yes.

According to the way neocons define themselves, Ronald Reagan was certainly a neocon--a former Democrat who saw the light, and became a "new conservative," promoting freedom, democracy, and capitalism as the last best hope of free men (and women,) in a world full of tyrants.
